» News: OPC General Assembly Continues

The Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) has provided a detailed summary report of the actions and activities of the General Assembly meeting this week at Dordt College and wrapping up no later than Wednesday the 20th of June.

One innovation employed at this year's OPC assembly is electronic voting by the delegates, allowing for instant, accurate counting of votes for various motions and elections. Today's sessions are dedicated to considering the draft of a new directory of public worship, a rare liturgical development among conservative Reformed Presbyterian churches.

ARPs beat them to it (new Directory of Worship).

Yes, i was just about to say that. The ARP General Synod of 2005 put together a committee to draft a new Book (Directory) of Worship, and they presented the draft to the 2006 Synod. Week before last, when the ARP Church met for its 2007 General Synod meeting, they adopted the new Directory of Worship.

Wonder why the ARP is always the red-headed step-child of the Presbyterian Churches, since they are just as large a church as the OP Church?

We changed "watershed" to "rare" in order to not imply that they are the only ones.

Larger Trey I believe. And not without a few well known names (e.g. Sinclair Ferguson & Jay Adams).
